Email Administration

Email Setup:

Use the following webmail login to setup domain email accounts. The email accounts will not be functional until your official domain name is live with the new site:

Webmail Link: https://mail.unionactive.com
Username: admin@iaff4268.org
Password: (Included in your Intro Letter, if you don't have it contact us)

Once you login, select the Options button, then click the Advanced Settings link. The WebAdmin window will open. Click the Account Manager link on the left. You will now see the list of current accounts. Click an account to edit or reset the password. Click the New button to create a new address, then enter the first and last name, email address ("mailbox name"), and email password, then click the Save button. You can also setup email aliases by selecting Aliases from the menu.

Your email users can access their email either via the webmail system link or by using an email program like Microsoft Outlook, Entourage, or any POP3 or IMAP compatible program.

Using a program like Outlook with a POP connection will cause the emails from your account to be downloaded to the Outlook program on your computer. The Webmail area will only display emails that have not been previously downloaded to your computer, it cannot display emails that are in your Outlook program.

* Each POP/IMAP/Webmail email account includes 1GB of storage space by default. Additinal storage may be purchased per account based on our email storage pricing. Storage space cannot be combined between accounts.

The following settings are necessary to properly configure an email program:

POP3 Incoming mail Connection Type
(Use this connection type for desktop programs like Outlook or Thunderbird.)

Username: Your full email address
Server: mail.unionactive.com
Encryption Type: TLS (SSL)
Port: 995

IMAP Incoming mail Connection Type
(Use this connection type for mobile devices like iPhones or Android based phones)

Username: Your full email address
Server: mail.unionactive.com
Encryption Type: TLS (SSL)
Port: 993

Outgoing mail server
(You must login to send email through our system.)

Username: Your full email address
Server: mail.unionactive.com
Encryption Type: STARTTLS
Authentication Type: Password
Port: 587

Instructions for setting up various email programs are available in the links at the bottom of this page.

Two email addresses will be initially created for your site, the admin@iaff4268.org account used for administering email accounts, and the info@iaff4268.org address used for communications from your UnionActive site including contact forms and the Broadcast Email functions. Make sure to monitor the info@iaff4268.org account for any system-generated messages.

If your organization runs an in-house email server, or you do not wish to have your email hosted by us, please inform our support staff before going live with your domain, especially if you are currently using domain email.

* Note: If your ISP restricts sending email through outside email servers on port 25, you will need to change the default Outgoing SMTP port in your email program to port 587. If you configure your account with the proper settings for sending email and have connection problems, try changing the default port.
